The Saskatoon Golf and Country Club is pleased to announce that it has committed as co-host of the 2024 Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship with Riverside Country Club. The Board and Management of SGCC are excited to have the opportunity for our course and our membership to be involved.
The Canadian Men’s Amateur is one of the oldest amateur golf championships in the world, with history dating back to 1895. The tournament is conducted annually by Golf Canada and includes the Willingdon Cup Interprovincial competition.
As co-host, the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club has committed the course from August 3-6, 2024, for practice rounds and the first two-days of competition. With this announcement, the club will be seeking individuals to be involved, including a tournament chairperson, committee chairs, and up to 75 tournament volunteers.
The last time SGCC hosted a National Golf Championship was the 2003 Canadian Junior Men’s Championship. Many of our current members will remember size and success of that event, as we look forward to the same in the 2024 Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship.
