The 61st Reliance Gregg’s Central Amateur was a great success last weekend. Thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers, staff, and players that made it a fantastic weekend. Pictures of the division winners and full results are posted <
HERE> on the tournament page. Congratulations to the Championship Division Winner
Colby Friedrich of North Battleford, and our own
Brian Humble and Cameron Mault who captured the Senior Division and Men’s Division respectively.
After the comments about
holes-in-one in last week’s update…
Mike Whiteside and
David Bird recorded aces during the tournament. Mike scored his Saturday July 2nd on the12th Hole for a $5000 prize, while David Bird got his first ever hole-in-one on Sunday July 3rd on the 6th hole.
Our SGCC Ladies put together a birthday celebration for
Dorothy Claggett earlier this week. She’s 90 years young, and we couldn’t resist sharing
this photo of the occasion.
We’re sad to share that
Brianne Davidiuk will be leaving us next week, as she has taken a new job with Obasa Group as an HR Manager. Brianne has been the friendly face in our office for the past 2 and a half years, looking after daily admin and assisting with all departments. Brianne's last day with us will be on Friday July 15th.
Upcoming Events:
- Men’s Night next week is sponsored by Callaway Canada and PLYR Golf
- Women’s Night next week is sponsored by Ellis and Oak
- SGCC Member Guest - Thursday July 14th
- PXG Club Fitting – Friday July 15th (contact Sloane or Brennen to book)
- There’s no Men’s Night or Women’s Night the week of July 18
- ICR Charity Classic – July 20
We’re still looking for a few volunteer scorers for the ICR Classic on July 20. Independent scorers (36 required) are typically provided by our Thursday Senior Men’s League, but we’re short 10 people right now. Scorers are provided with a cart to follow along and verify scores. There are no special requirements or training involved.
July is FootJoy Month in the Pro Shop with all FJ clothing, shoes and hats 30-50% off.
The sand replacement project is ongoing with hole #17 completed just yesterday. The crew will be moving over to #13, then 12, 18, and 10 to complete the back-9. That will take us through to the end of July or early August. The front-9 bunkers are significantly smaller and fewer which means we could be done by the end of August.
Have a Great Weekend,
McLaren Taylor
General Manager
