A huge thanks to all the members who donated to the staff appreciation fund. There were 72 members who used the online form, plus dozens of members who dropped off other gratuities and prizes. We also want to thank the members who volunteered their time to work the staff party casino games, ticket tables, and clean-up. And we can't forget the members who regularly look after our seasonal staff with gratuities, doughnuts, muffins, and other treats. Our summer staff greatly appreciate your support.
With that, the grounds crew is wrapping things up on the course today and Terry plans to use the last of our staff fund donation to take the crew out for lunch. All greens have been covered, and the course is put to bed for the year.
In the office, it’s the start of a new year today as the club’s fiscal year ended yesterday. It will take a few weeks before all the October business is finalised, and the year-end audit (already underway) will wrap-up at the end of November. The 2024 Financial Statements will be made available after that, along with an official announcement of the January AGM. Members can put Tuesday January 21st down as a tentative date for the AGM.
The SGCC Board of Directors has 3-spots up for election every year. Nominations are being accepted for this year’s election. The nomination form is available <HERE> for anyone who wants to put their name forward. The submission requires a short biography, and 5 endorsements from other SGCC members. Nomination forms can be sent to the office, or to any of the 3 members of the nominating committee listed on the form.

A celebration of life will be held in the dining room next Saturday November 9th for Dorothy Claggett, from 2-4pm. Dorothy’s family would like to invite any SGCC Members who wish to attend.
The SGCC Christmas Brunch is Sunday November 24th. Additional details will be provided next week.
