Member Update

10/25/2024

The 2024 Season wrapped up last weekend with a final total of 34,697 rounds for the year. That’s down from 36,364 rounds played last year. Looking at the months, we had a good start and a great finish, as we were up 1384 in April and October combined. However, play was down in every month in between, with most of the shortfall in May and June which were down 2237 rounds combined.

No holes-in-one to report since October 3rd, which means the story ends with 13 members and 2 guests this year. That compares to 30 members and 2 guests last year.

Winter preparations have been ongoing this week. There will be some work left to do next week to finish up, but so far all the greens have been top-dressed and covered with tarps. Some have a single tarp, while the older Poa annua greens are covered with layers that include an ice-tarp, flax, and second tarp for added protection.

Our annual SGCC Staff Appreciation night is tonight. It’s a “casino” themed party with table games and prize giveaways. A big thanks to those who donated prizes and gratuities through the online form. We had 64 online donations and numerous “drop-off” donations of cash and giveaway items. Again, management does not participate in the prizes and giveaways this evening. A group staff photo and sponsor list will be included in next week’s update. Thanks again to everyone who contributed, and thanks to all those members who leave tips for the staff throughout the season.

The 2024 Member Survey had 334 responses this year. A link to the full results is published on the MEMBER DASHBOARD. Thanks again to everyone who participated.

The SGCC Board of Directors has 3-spots up for election every year. Nominations are being accepted for this year’s election. A minimum of 2-spots will need to be filled as there are 2 board members completing their second term this year. The nomination form is available <HERE> for anyone who wants to put their name forward. The submission requires a short biography, and 5 endorsements from other SGCC members. Nomination forms can be sent to the office, or to any of the 3 members of the nominating committee listed on the form.

Office hours will be 9-4 through the off-season...and early next week the office will be short-staffed, and the pro shop will be closed, as our team attends the PGA of SK Merchandise show Monday and Tuesday.

Have a Great Weekend.
