Member Update

10/18/2024

It looks like great Fall weather will continue through the weekend, and with a reasonable forecast, most of the winter preparations are set to start on Monday. That said, some things have been underway for a few days already. I’m sure a few people wondered why we were watering the course in the dark this morning, but that was the last of the irrigation lines being blown out for the winter. The greens and m
ost of the fairways can be sprayed Monday and Tuesday, so there’s no longer a need to disrupt play this weekend. And with little chance of snow, most of the greens will be covered by the end of next week. A collective “knock on wood” might be helpful on that part.

In explaining that, it should be obvious that Sunday is the last day that the golf course and restaurant will be open. Clubs must be taken home for the winter, and your locker should be cleared out and left open…if you want it cleaned for the start of next season.

Important Reminders: October 31st is our year end. Your charge account should be up to date by the end of the month. Accounts that are over 30 days past due incur interest and then suspended at 60 days past due. Member accounts that are not current are not allowed to vote at the AGM, and suspended accounts are not billed for 2025 membership in the new year.

Notice of 2025 Dues was issued yesterday. The letter is posted on the Member Dashboard, and the 2025 rates are available on the Membership Rates page. New this year is a 2% fee on credit payments. Going forward, the fee applies to the payment of membership dues only, and not any monthly restaurant or pro shop charges.

The “early payment incentive” is available again this year with 7 weekly draws for a $500 pro shop credit. Members who pre-pay their 2024 dues will be entered into the draws made every Friday at 12 Noon from November 7th until December 20th. You can only win once, but an early payment could give you up to 7 chances to be drawn.

A monthly payment program is also available for most categories, which doesn’t get you in on the draws, but does spread the fees evenly from this November through October next year. There’s a little paperwork to get started <HERE> which must be submitted by November 12th as payments are taken on or around the 15th of each month.

The Annual Member Survey had 334 responses. That’s up from 208 last year. Thanks to everyone who participated. Results are being sorted and will be ready for Management/Board review next week. Members will have a chance to view results as soon as the end of next week.

Fun Fact…from the survey: 56% of members said they were likely or very likely to order food before or after their round, while 62% said they were likely or very likely having a drink. And on the question of where our F&B ranks, 36% said the SGCC was a primary option, while 52% said it was a secondary option. That's 88% of respondents who consider SGCC a first or second option for F&B establishments.

Thanks for your support in 2024, and have a great weekend.

P.S. Time is running out to get in on the 2024 hole-in-one story…just sayin!
