2025 Rates Letter

2024 was another successful year for the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club, highlighted by co-hosting the Canadian Men’s Amateur in August. It was an opportunity to showcase our course, and the hard work of our volunteer members and staff who provided traditional SGCC hospitality.

Financially, it will be another good year, despite the May/June weather which produced shortfalls in guest fees and cart revenue. Membership categories were full again this year and continued to provide financial stability for the club. As a result, we look forward to delivering another positive financial report after the November audit.

Management and the Finance Committee completed a review of membership fees in September and completed a 2025 draft budget. Rising costs and another increase in the minimum wage are expected to drive a 4-5% increase in operating costs. The committee also considered significant increases in equipment replacement costs and general upkeep. The Finance and Facilities Committees agreed on a goal to continue funding regular capital spending and course improvements without additional member assessments. And finally, Finance recognised the need to focus on the member experience, and less reliance on outside revenue sources in the future.

Following recommendations from the Finance Committee, the Board of Directors has approved a 6% increase in membership dues for 2025. Membership fees have been updated <HERE> on the website.

The “early payment incentive” is available again this year with 7 weekly draws for a $500 pro shop credit. Members who pre-pay their 2024 dues will be entered into the draws made every Friday at 12 Noon from November 7th until December 20th. You can only win once, but an early payment could give you up to 7 chances to be drawn.

Pre-payment can be made by etransfer to [email protected] or by electronic funds transfer (EFT) through your online banking...just add “Saskatoon Golf Country Club” as the payee and your membership number as the account. Credit card payments can be made in person or over the phone but will be subject to a 2% admin fee to offset credit card processing fees incurred by the club.
The monthly payment plan (not eligible for weekly draws) is an option currently used by about 25% of our adult members. Those members will receive an email before November 1 with the new monthly rate as the plan runs November through October.

All other members will see the 2025 membership dues in February with the January Member Statement.

As we continue to enjoy great weather this week, remember that the course and restaurant close on Sunday, October 20th. With the potential for a turn in weather next week, our Maintenance Staff will be spraying the course on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, so there will be no play after 4pm on the front nine. And of course, don’t forget to stop by to clean out your locker and take your clubs home for the season.

Thank you for your continued support, and another great year.
