Wednesday’s ICR Classic was another full house with 144 players on the course and another 36 Senior Men from SGCC following along with each group to verify scores. A big thanks to everyone involved with course setup, player services, scoring, and course clean-up.
And “thanks for your patience” to this morning’s early tee-times, as we had the east side of the parking lot and driveways cleaned this morning.
Senioritas and Margaritas tomorrow will be regular tee-times from 1:00-2:30. The tee-sheet was adjusted yesterday to open up a number tee-times. A few of those openings (around 12pm and 4pm) were still available as of this morning.
Men’s Night is back next week sponsored by Collision Plus (Dale Huber) and Affinity Credit Union (Leigh Spencer and Jason Davies)
Women’s Night next Wednesday is sponsored by Karen Toews.
The Canadian Men’s Amateur begins next Saturday, and so we expect the course will be busy next week with member play. The lottery for next Friday could fill most of the day, so get your requests in by 12Noon on Monday. The weighted draw will give preference to members. If you have guests that want to see the course before the tournament, you should consider a Monday to Thursday booking.
With no holes-in-one to report (again) this week, we’ll turn our attention over to course conditions. Overall, it’s in great shape out there. Rough height was raised ½ inch last week, to 3-inches total. I know…it seems like more. Grass is growing very fast these days, with what Terry calls “ideal bluegrass growing conditions” The fairways were cut every day this week and there were plenty of clippings. A wet spring, followed by heat and humidity produced “thicker” conditions this year. And...the trouble areas have really improved. That’s where the hard work was done by our staff, over-seeding and patching...some of which had to be done 2 and 3 times before the weather finally came around. With that, a big thanks to the grounds crew as they carry on with regular daily duties, plus the little extras.
Thanks,
McLaren Taylor
