The golf season wrapped up last weekend as 160 golfers enjoyed the final day on Sunday. It was good weather for this time of year and a nice finish to a great weather year overall. Some fun facts on the year include 36,364 rounds played, 1846 hot dogs sold, and 11,913 pints of beer poured.
More detail from the F&B report says that a basket of 10 wings was the most popular item upstairs at 1550 orders. The Tee-Off Breakfast is next at 1200 even this year, followed by Fish & Chips at 890 orders. In the sandwich race, the Clubhouse beat the Nashville Chicken 763 to 601.
In the Grab & Go, Candy bags were the most popular item at 2350 units sold. That’s just ahead of 1846 hot dogs, and divots at 1582. On the G&G beverage sales…nothing tops 20,700 cans of beer. In fact, all other beverages combined (including water and coffee) in the Grab & Go is somewhere around 12,000 units.
Overall, the F&B operation had a record year at over $1M in sales, including $765,798 in Member Spending. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
The F&B Rewards program provides a 5% reward in complimentary power cart and guest fee tickets. Rewards start at $1000 in spending to receive 1 complimentary cart rental. This year, we had 257 members spend $1000 or more. Make sure your mailing address is up to date and watch for reward cards in the mail at the end of November.
BTW...the Pro Shop had a record year too at over $650,000 in merchandise sales to date. Member pricing and smaller margins prevent us from doing a rewards program, but thanks to great staff and member support we have access to a wide range of products and special order club fittings...in one of the busiest pro shops in the province!
Since the course closed on Sunday, Terry completed the irrigation blowout on Monday/Tuesday, top-dressed the greens and tees, aerated the entire range, and has nearly all the tarps down on the greens.
Course contractors finished shaping the putting green late last week and spent some time working on the practice bunker over the weekend. Then on Monday & Tuesday, they installed sod around the putting green and the practice bunker to complete the contract. Terry will tarp the new putting green this fall to prevent any erosion, and then seed the putting surface in the spring. Weather permitting, members can expect the new tees on #15 and #18 to be in use sometime around the May Long Weekend, and the putting green could be ready sometime mid to late July.
Another reminder that October 31 is our year-end, and we hope to see accounts up to date at that time.
The Office and Pro Shop are open from 9-4 weekdays for account payments, locker clean-out, and anyone who hasn’t already picked up their clubs from storage.
SGCC’s (Kayla’s) first annual “Sip and Shop” Craft Show is tomorrow from 10-4 and Sunday from 10-2. There will be 24 vendors in attendance, and the restaurant will be open with limited menu service during show hours.
The SGCC Staff Party is a "Carnival Night" on November 3rd. Thanks to the members who have dropped off a monetary donation or giveaway prize.
To leave a year-end tip using your member account...we created a form <HERE>. Again, all donations/tips are shared among the hourly staff only.
Watch for the 2023 Member Survey early next week, along with information on nominating someone to the Board of Directors.
Have a Great Weekend.
