The Partners Tournament is on this weekend presented by Groundkeeper Fertilizer (Wayne Thiessen) Tommy Guns Barbershop (Bryce Hunter) and MNP (Jason Watt). Online Scoring can be viewed by using SGCCPARTNERS23 as your GGID or <HERE> on the online portal.
Tee times after the 9am Partners shotgun are a crossover using the #1 and #10 tees. That means there are two of each starting time on the booking sheet from 2:30-4:00. The first booking listed starts on #1 and the second starts on #10.
29 of the 60 new power carts were delivered this week. The remining 31 are expected next week. So yes...still challenging, but the new carts have been well received!
The golf course has come along nicely with the recent rainfall. Aeration has healed on the back-9 and is almost fully healed on the front. A few people have asked about the blue tee box on #12 that was levelled and re-sodded last fall. Roots from the Poplar trees removed in the spring are now causing damage as they push up through the turf. The crew worked at cutting most of them out this week and looking at the size and strength of what they found, I can see how these roots can push up through anything! Other areas that struggled during the hot dry summer have come back quickly and we're in for great Fall conditions.
The tee-box projects on Hole #15 and #18 will be starting next week. The contractor arrives on Tuesday and will likely start stripping the old tees on Wednesday. Watch for the re-routing of traffic in these areas as only the forward tees will be in use for the remainder of the season. The putting green project (at the 1st tee) will begin after the contractors have started on the other projects.
Please Note: The southwest section of our parking lot is being used to store materials and blend root-zone mix needed for each project. At some point this section of parking may be closed entirely including the south gate near the 1st tee. In the meantime, trucks are delivering materials and members should avoid parking in this area.
Men's Night wraps up next week with a 3:00 start, sponsored by the Saskatoon Blades and Saskatoon Rush (Tyler Wawryk).
