Member Update

5/12/2023

Great weather continued this week and looks to be sticking around through next week. The course is in excellent condition, and yes, the irrigation system has been going strong since opening day. You’ll see a lot of the usual ropes have been put out to distribute cart traffic away. Cart riders should remember to keep power carts on the paths near tee-boxes and greens to prevent extra wear.

Men’s Night kicked off on Tuesday Night with 100 players in attendance and great weather into the evening.

Women’s Night starts next Wednesday.

Note: You can access information on Men’s Night <HERE> and Women’s Night <HERE> by clicking on the links to the website pages. The website includes sign-up links, dates, sponsors, etc.

Mother’s Day Brunch is sold out. Kayla and her team will have a busy weekend with over 300 people expected on Sunday.

Congratulations Jeren Tuchscherer (New Member) on the first Hole-in-One this year. Jaren scored the ace on Hole #8 on May 8th. Part of the SGCC “Club Fee” goes to hole-in-one insurance which pays $150 on F&B credit and covers the personalized Yeti mug.

And just in time for this update...Matt Cameron gets the second Hole-in-One this year today, also on Hole #8. Congratulations Matt.

The Driving Range moved to onto grass earlier this week and continues to see steady traffic. Family privileges begin on Monday, and we ask that members share a stall with family guests whenever there is a shortage of spots. The regular cutting and maintenance program is in effect now on the range. Going forward, the driving range closes early on Mondays and Thursdays for a clean pick and morning cut. It opens later Tuesday and Friday mornings after the cut and divot maintenance is complete. Members with tee-times can access a few spots near the1stt tee after the range area is cut. General practice on Tuesday and Friday starts after the crew has finished on the tee-box.

Reminder: The SGCC Dress Code asks Members and their guests to wear caps forward and remove caps while seated for dining or drinks upstairs. This applies to all areas including the Kinnear Room, but not the outside decks.

And if you need a hat, the Pro Shop is well stocked. Mother’s day clothing specials are on now, and the shop is fully stocked with brands like Footjoy, Puma, Travis Matthew, Lululemon, Tribal Sport, and Levelwear.

Have a Great Weekend,

McLaren Taylor
