As per announcements earlier this week, the driving range opened on Wednesday morning, and the golf course opens tomorrow morning with tee-times at 9am.
Member Updates like this one are delivered to your inbox, and posted at the same time on the <Member Dashboard>.
Tee times have been drawn for the weekend. Every group received a time, but with 37 groups asking for the 9:00 spot, not everyone got what they hoped for. This will improve already next weekend as we gain an hour of tee-times next Friday, and another hour the following week.
The “Season Opener” is on tomorrow night from 7-9 featuring food and drink samples and regular food service. Members are asked to RSVP <HERE> so that the F&B staff can prepare, but reservations are not required to attend.
New Members are invited to attend an information session in advance of the Season Opener, starting at 6:30. Register <HERE> if you are new this year or last year and want to learn more about SGCC.
Note: Registration for tomorrow night just helps us prepare space and samples. There’s no minimum charge or special seating, and feel free to come out even if you haven’t registered in advance.
Next Friday is Cinco de Mayo with Margaritas and Tacos on special.
The Women’s Spring Meeting & Brunch is Sunday May 7th at 10am with registration <HERE>.
Mother’s Day Brunch on May 14th has seatings from 9:30 to 1:30. Reserve through the Office at 306-931-0022 or email [email protected]. Adults $32, Seniors $28, Kids 6-12 $14, and 5 & under Free. Add flower arrangement for $25. The Menu is a little larger than Easter, with brunch favourites: bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, fruits, salads…plus waffle station, omelet station, seafood platter, perogies, cabbage rolls, Danishes, and NEW chocolate fountain.
Visit the Club Calendar through the Member Dashboard for details on upcoming events and promotions.
Restaurant menus are posted <HERE> on the Club Dining page.
The first “SGCC MAJOR” is the Spring Thaw May 27/28 presented by Collision Plus Autobody. Entries open next Friday at 12 Noon. Registration dates and links for all “Club Majors” are available <HERE> on the website under: MEMBER CENTRAL>LEAGES & TOURNAMANETS>SGCC MAJORS.
The flags at SGCC have been lowered for Peter Semko, Bud Besse, and Bruce Claggett. Peter's connection with SGCC dated back to an apprenticeship under Pat Fletcher in the Pro Shop. He had a long career as a PGA Member and golf course owner before spending the last 14 years at SGCC. Bud Besse passed away on April 20th. Many will remember Bud and his wife Shirley as active members from 1979 through 2017. Bruce Claggett passed away unexpectedly on February 22nd. Bruce worked on the SGCC grounds crew when he was younger and was an active member for 27 years. Bruce was 61 years old.
Enjoy the weather and the course this weekend. Again, there won’t be any fixtures like benches or ball washer, and the on-course washrooms will be closed for little while longer.
Have a Great Weekend...and we look forward to seeing you at the Season Opener tomorrow night.
