Congratulations to this week’s $500 pro shop credit draw winner:
Members who pre-pay their 2026 dues are eligible for a weekly $500 Pro Shop credit draw through December 19. Draws are made at 12Noon on Fridays…and there’s still time to get in on the remaining 6 draws. Contact the office at 306-931-0022 to arrange payment. Remember that a 2% fee applies to memberships paid by credit card. Alternative payment types include: Etransfers, Online Banking, cheques, and in-person debit.
Fun Facts: The average age of an SGCC Member (excluding juniors) is 52. That’s basically the same as it was a few years ago. As a rule, everyone gets a year older each year (sorry), so there must be something to be said about the turnover. Looking at members who are new in the past 5-years, the average “current age” age is 44. At the top end, the current roster includes 43 members age 80 or older, with another 116 are in their 70’s. Considering the full roster, 27% of all members are 65 or older. Another 45% are 40-65 years of age, and 28% are under 40. And again, juniors age 18 and under are excluded.
Office hours through the winter are 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
The Pro Shop will have regular shopping hours December 1st though December 19th from 9am to 4pm. SGCC hoodies and quarter zips are new in the shop now, with additional merchandise on its way.
Flags were lowered at the club this week for the passing of Grant Robertson. In over 40 years as a member, he served on the Board of Directors and was a key figure in negotiating the land swap that allowed SGCC to develop new holes and relocate the SGCC Clubhouse to the current location. Grant was 75 when he passed on November 19th.
The SGCC Board of Directors has 3-spots up for election every year, and nominations are being accepted for this year’s election. The nomination form is available <HERE> for qualified members to put their name forward. The submission requires a short biography, and 5 endorsements from other SGCC members. Nomination forms can be sent to the office, or to any of the 3 members of the nominating committee listed on the form.
