The Frostbite Tournament last weekend finished in a tie and was settled in a chip-off won by the team of Norm Duret, Robert Ewashko, Kevin Feader, and Paul Zehr. Full results and a photo of the champions can be found on the SGCC Majors Page. Thanks again to the sponsors: Conexus Credit Union (Norm Duret), Team Drilling (Alan Lamy), JGL Capital (Regan Espeseth), and Raymond James Financial (Brett Graham and Greg Beswick).
Great Fall-Golf weather continued this week with summer-like temperatures. Looking into next week we should more of the same above average temperatures. That said, the days continue to get shorter and tee times are moving back to 8:30 on Monday.
Frost Note: It seems unlikely next week, but if frost does occur, tee-times will begin with the first time booked after the course opens. Times that have passed have an opportunity to re-book into an opening or play the back-nine when it becomes available. Access to the back-nine also depends on maintenance getting out ahead of play.
The Driving Range will move to mats on Monday October 6th, and weather permitting, the last day of golf will be Wednesday October 15th.
The Pro Shop Fall Sale is on with 30% off your first clothing purchase. Buy 2 pieces of clothing and get 40% off, and buy 3 pieces for 50% off.
Progress on the new SGCC Maintenance Facility continued this week with grade beam forms and rebar installation. Concrete will be poured for the grade beam next week, and base-fill gravel should arrive sometime the following week. Steel building materials are scheduled to arrive in the week of October 13th.
Fun Facts: Rounds of golf this year are up 11% over last year, which means we could finish at around 38,500 rounds. Of course, that means pints of beer are up with 11,180 pours to date compared to 10,039 at this time last year. In the race for top-seller, pints of Boh are leading for the first time at 2538 pints compared to Coors Light at 2340.
On the food menu, a basket of 10-wings pairs nicely with a pint, and is the most frequently ordered item on the menu again this year. Overall, wing sales to date (including 6-wing orders) are 26,674 compared to 19,252 last year. The Tee-Off Breakfast is the top breakfast item upstairs at 1218 orders this year. In Soups & Salads, the Thai Chicken Salad is the best seller so far with our Beef & Broccoli Bowl running a close second at 388-379. If you're a little hungrier, the Clubhouse Sandwich and Nashville Chicken Sandwich are the most popular items at 683 and 533 sold. And in the Grab & Go, Divots are running just ahead of a standard Hot Dogs 2048 to 1969...but if you include “bacon wrapped”, it’s 2482 Hot Dogs to date.
The FALL BAKE SALE is back with Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins, Maple Snickerdoodles, Apple Fritter Loaf, Pumpkin Pie, Brown Sugar Banana Blondies, House Made Soups, and more. The full menu of items is shown below. Click <HERE> to place your order.
