Member Update

9/12/2025

A nice stretch of summer-like weather continued this week, but signs of the season have certainly arrived with fall colours, shorter days, and fewer daily tee-times. Starting next week, tee-times are moving to 8am and will remain there until September 29th. Considering the good 14-day forecast, a reminder about the f-word will be saved for next week’s update.

Construction began this week on the new SGCC Maintenance Facility. In case you missed the announcement in July, you can read about the project <HERE> on the club website. Miners Construction setup an office trailer earlier this week, as the construction area was leveled and fenced for safety. Ground-work will continue next week with pile installation scheduled to start on Wednesday.

Congratulations to Lee Braaten on his hole-in-one Friday September 5th on Hole #6, and Judy King on her hole-in-one Wednesday September 10th on hole #8.

Upcoming Events:

  • Comedy Night: Friday, September 19th More details available <HERE> on the Club Calendar
  • Frostbite: September 20-21
  • Women's Fall Meeting & Brunch: September 28th at 10am. RSVP <HERE>

course closing date has been set for Wednesday October 15. Tee-times beyond that puts maintenance plans at risk due to morning frost and low daytime temperatures. Irrigation blowout is likely happening during play on October 13-15. Winter fungicide applications and general winterizing of the course will begin on October 16th.

Have a Great Weekend.
