With rain in the area, we’re crossing our fingers to get a measurable amount over the next few days. So far this year, we’ve had just 8mm of rain, and it shows when you get outside the irrigated areas. Even with system coverage, fairways and tees are struggling at times, particularly later on a hot day. And with the high winds, areas that should get water every night…sometimes don’t. It isn't often we use wetting agents outside of the greens, but that's what you'll see in some areas, like the 3rd and 4th fairways to hold some moisture on high spots.

The grounds crew has completed all stump grinding and those areas have been patched and seeded. They’ll be hand watered over the next few weeks to get the seed started. Again, some rain would help. Flagged spots down the left side of #13 are potential replanting. The plan has not been finalized, but there will be new trees planted this summer to replace the poplars removed over the winter.

Annual course projects like the aeration of tee boxes (80) and back-9 greens have been completed. Edging bunkers (52) throughout the course is nearly done, and the crew will begin sod-patching certain wear-spots over the next two-weeks.

Wednesday next week is the BUG Tournament, in support of the St. Paul’s Hospital’s Clinical Microbiology services.
