SGCC Members and Staff are excited about this weekend’s weather and course opening. The Driving Range opened this morning at 9am, and the first tee-time tomorrow morning is 8am.

The golf course is in excellent spring condition, with a few winter spots, but nothing at all like we saw last spring. The difference is remarkable on certain greens like the putting green near the clubhouse and the 8th green, which has little if any areas of concern.

The first Tee-Time Lottery was run yesterday for the weekend. Everyone who requested a tee time received a booking. Some received a time on the edge of preferred range, but no groups were left out. Draws were also made for Monday-Thursday next week, and those draws filled about half of the day, leaving plenty of space for regular online or phone-in bookings.

Cancellation Reminder: Please remember to cancel any tee-time that you don’t need. This applies to the full tee-time and any individual spot that will not be used. Demand is still high for members who didn’t book through the lottery or may want to play earlier. Cancellations are easily made online, or by calling the Pro Shop. No Shows are penalized with additional lottery points, that can affect future bookings, and no-shows will be tracked to identify repeat offenders.

The Driving Range is restricted to the matts only for now, as the turf is not growing fast enough yet to handle the traffic. But with warm weather, the turf should get going faster, to shorten that window as much as possible.

If you’re planning to attend tonight’s “Season Opener Social” <CLICK HERE> to register. Drop-ins are welcome, but a reservation will ensure that space will be made available. New menu items will be featured on a buffet for $15, sip on handcrafted cocktails, and enjoy a casual evening to kick-off the year. It all starts around 6:30.

New Members are invited to an SGCC Orientation/Information session tonight at 5pm and stay for the opening social afterwards.

The Women’s Opening Brunch is next Sunday May 4th at 10am. SGCC Women's Members, and SGCC Wednesday Women’s Night (non-members) are invited. Sign-up <HERE> by April 30th

Other Upcoming Events Include:

  • Cinco de Mayo on May 5th (of course) with $22 tacos, $7 Chips & Salsa, and $6 Margaritas
  • Mother’s Day Brunch on May 11th (reserve <HERE> or call the office 306-931-0022)
  • First Men’s Night on May 13th

General Membership Note: Several changes have been made for 2025 to provide better tee-time access for members, including:

  • Reducing the number of “outside tournament” bookings
  • Managing the spacing of the remaining outside tournaments
  • Restricting block bookings of any kind during traditionally busy times
  • Eliminating the twilight rate except for league play (Read More)
  • Earlier starting times when possible (like this weekend)
  • 7/8 minute booking intervals until there is room to allow for longer intervals

Have a Great Opening Weekend
